The Chronicleworld’s Weblog is a New Voice for the Creative Renewal of African Caribbean Britain and Europe

So what’s behind this move? We’ve given ourselves a reality check. Over the years we’ve offered an excellent alternative to the mainstream propaganda that unfairly maligned one segment of society.

Ten years on from the founding of Chronicleworld.org, we aim to refresh our “objective and neutral” approach. If we are ever to create a meaningful change, then blogging and advocating a distinct point of view are crucial elements.

Why is this changed perspective necessary? Blacks in Britain and Europe need a new portal to encourage innovation and excellence. We’ll promote the ideas, products and strategic actions needed for Black achievement and advancement.

Interest in Black urban culture, poetics, community action and education is growing. Individuals and organisationsare faced with new opportunities. The Internet offers new challenges to digitise Black History and Afro-European Studies.

This ground-breaking approach serves an over due wake-up call for the much maligned African Caribbean youth. Equally, it serves as a call to action for those who care about issues of race relations, economic justice and social equity.

Special Coverage On a wider front, the “browning” of Britain and the continent is becoming an increasing reality. The settlements of people of African heritage in Europe grow dramatically as globalisation continues to link the west with world regions, .

Today, peoples of colour reside, work and study in key cities and nations of the European Community. This development deserves closer scrutiny, especially its effects on national economies, societies, housing, education and job markets.

Our new portal offers a window, too, on more than a 1000 pages of issue-driven articles in the Archives of the Chronicleworld, http://www.chronicleworld.org, and 10 years of commentaries reflecting and leading the pace of change.
